Building a team

Posted: 10th June 2025

Successful real estate agents don’t work alone; they build a team around them. In today’s market, having the right people on your team is crucial for success. This includes not only photographers but also building inspectors, tradies you can rely on, and conveyancers.

There are pros and cons to working with both large and small operators:

  • Small Operators: If you’re a boutique agent who sells only a handful of properties a year, a smaller, one-person operation might be the perfect fit. They can offer highly personalized service and get to know your needs exactly.

  • Larger Teams: On the other hand, if you’re dealing with or planning to manage higher volumes, it may be worth partnering with larger teams that can handle the demands. For instance, while a small operator might have a three-week wait for photography, a larger team can often get a client booked the next day and on the market by lunchtime the following day.

It’s important to consider the availability and flexibility of your team members. Small law firms, for example, may not be able to take on contracts if they’re overloaded, leaving your vendor or purchaser going outside your network and using an unknown lawyer. Similarly, if you’re relying on a single photographer who takes annual & sick leave, you could be left waiting for weeks & suffer last minute cancellations.  The Picket Fence Media, is Queensland’s largest & we maintain a 90% next day availability across the network
